Suwanee Whole Life Co-op:  closed on 4/11 but open during Spring Break

Hi there,
We will have normal co-op pick up this Wednesday, April 4th during Spring Break. I just found out that I have to go out of town unexpectedly the next week for family reasons and won’t be back in time to have market on April 11th.

Only on April 11th – no market and only Fresh Harvest produce boxes. FH box pick up will be at Pam’s house NOT at Cultured Traditions. I’ll send out Pam’s address next week so we don’t cause confusion. FH will also send out a reminder.

You all know I wouldn’t close the market unless I had too. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

Thank you,
Nora

Old99Farm Market:  Old99 Farm week of Mar 25 2018

We have delicious new greens now in the greenhouse: chard, lettuce, arugula, kale and lettuce. Hope to see you friday.

New beef, along with chicken, pork and lamb.

I have bare root trees in cold storage ready to plant, these are large caliper trees, trunk diameter from 1 to 2 inches. We need to plant trees everywhere don’t we? For the good of the planet, reducing carbon pollution the natural way.

I am registered for an advanced permaculture design course starting early April. I’m offering to work with someone on doing the design for your place, from a 1/4 acre up to 20acres. No $$ cost to you but you’ll need to budget time as the ‘client’ to think through your objectives, hopes and wishes for your homeplace. This course lasts 10 weeks. By mid summer you’ll have a design for resilience and possibly quite self-sufficient lifestyle.

Moving from the northern reaches of the Boreal Forest to the base of Mount Ararat in Turkey to the streets of New York, The Messenger brings us face-to-face with a remarkable variety of human-made perils that have devastated thrushes, warblers, orioles, tanagers, grosbeaks and many other airborne music-makers.

Have you thought about becoming a vendor at the Farmers Market? Here’s your chance to join returning vendors and find out about the coming season and enjoy a potluck lunch on Friday, April 6th from 10am-2pm at the Skyline Bank Conference Center (please note the change of venue). Check out our Facebook event page for more information.

Tuesday, April 10th from 3-5 pm, Common Ground presents: Appreciating Differences: Promoting and Developing Cultural Competent Communities at the Galax Public Library. We are members of an ever-changing society and America is becoming more diverse, but we often remain culturally encapsulated. Learn how to blossom cultural competence in our community: From appreciating all people you interact with and the communities from which they come from – to our collective role in developing a school and local community where all students and families are valued. Hear examples of how to grow and develop self-awareness, knowledge of others, and cultural skills to understand the complex process of personal cultural competency development and how it can be brought back to our community.

Thank you all so much for supporting the Independence Farmers Market!
