Dawson Local Harvest:  Mean Green Beans!

Dawson Local Harvest for July 29th

Mean Green Beans!

HI EVERYBODY!

It’s pretty hard to fix true fresh picked-from-the-garden Green Beans and make them taste bad. Sauteed’ in butter or a little olive oil and sea salt, as long as they’re tender they’re gonna taste good. But let’s be real, here. The proper way to fix Green Beans is southern style, cooked a couple of hours until all vitamins are removed! OK, here’s a pretty good compromise: snap your beans and put them in a pot of water. Mince a red jalapeno for the color and the warmth, or you can wuss out with a little red Bell. Add 1/4 minced onion or 1-3 cloves garlic. Skip the fatback and add a tablespoon of ham bouillon or to taste, and sea salt, and you’re done. Quicker, healthier, and very tasty. Get your fresh-picked Green Beans from LEILANI’S in the Vegetable section of The Market and fix yourself some Mean Green Beans!

Lots of good things on The Market this week, from Breads and Desserts to raw Milk, to free-range Pork and wild-caught Shrimp, to organic Berries and so much more, so take a good look at everything and reward your tastebuds!

THE MARKET WILL OPEN Sunday night at 8pm!

REMEMBER! You can order until Tuesday night at 9 pm. Pick up your order at Leilani’s Gardens Friday afternoons from 4 to 7pm.

You’ll find the DAWSON LOCAL HARVEST at http://dawsonville.locallygrown.net

We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible! We guarantee your satisfaction with all products in the DAWSON LOCAL HARVEST.

Have a happy and healthy week!

CLG:  Opening Bell: Cantaloupe, Mushrooms, Peaches, Corn!

Good afternoon!
With the scorching heat lately, we can expect a reduction in the amount of quality food being produced in the gardens and fields. At this time of year, I just try to keep my plants alive through the heat so they can continue to produce into the fall. This is also the time of year some Growers elect to take a week of vacation here and there. Look at KMG Farm to be listing additional Chicken and Beef very soon.

Don’t forget to check out the recipe page on Conway Locally Grown!

Most items are listed by 6pm Sunday, but check back again before the market closes Tuesday night to see if any other items are ready to be harvested for you! Eat fresh! Eat local! Eat for better health!

Usually our volunteers have the market ready for customers to pick up before 4pm. If you are out and about and want to know if we are ready, just text me to see: 501-339-1039.

Check out over 300 wonderful items listed right now. See you on Friday!

Come early on Friday for the best selection from the EXTRAS table. And save your eggshells throughout the week for the laying hens! :-)

The market is now OPEN for orders.

Please check your email about 5 minutes after you place your order to make sure you get an order confirmation. Thank you for being a valuable part of CLG!
Have a great week!
