Foothills Market:  Market Update - June 9

The market is open to take orders for Saturday pickup.

We have a limited number of blueberries available this week, in part because we are between varieties. The early varieties are beginning to taper off, but the later varieties (Summit and Ozark Blue) don’t have quite enough ripe berries. We hope they will be ready in good quantities by next week.

Our yellow squash and zucchini are beginning to produce well, just as the spring vegetables such as the garden peas are beginning to wane. That’s one of the mixed blessings of gardening – vegetables taste great while they are fresh, but there’s such a short window when they are available!

The market will be open from noon Thursday until 5 p.m. Friday for pick-up at the farmers’ market downtown from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday.

Eat something fresh this week!

Gwinnett Locally Grown:  MARKET IS OPEN-ORDER NOW!

The Market is now OPEN until Monday at noon!! Click here to order now!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far. I've been very busy working in the garden here at the farm! Planting, transplanting, pruning, and weeding… enjoying watching the kids at summer camp have a blast learning about how food is grown. By the way, if you have little ones and are looking for something to keep them outside and off the electronics; we're running a couple more 3-day summer camps here at the farm . Go check it out!

I wanted to share with you all my experience with the Wild Lambs Quarter I got from Bill this week. I read a little about them, they are packed with chlorophyll and iron as well as vitamin A. Taste a bit like spinach and it can be used in any recipe that calls for, chard and kale. So I sauteed mine this morning with a little garlic and coconut oil, fried a couple of eggs I got from Marty (Rocky Acres) and that was me breaking the fast! This is pretty much my favorite way to get my greens in the morning, or a smoothie.

So go browse the market, get inspired and creative this week. Try something new!

Old99Farm Market:  Late Notice Market moved to Fridays

I’ll contact the customers who ordered for tomorrow directly if possible because I have to shift the market date to Friday this week for personal reasons.

Plus that gives me the extra shove to move the market to Fridays for the rest of the summer. Same time 4 to 6pm or by arrangement.

I like to pick all produce fresh the same day and refrigerate so you can come sat/sun/mon to pick up too if you’ve ordered by Thurs pm.

Healthy eating,
Ian and Cami
