This Week

Carrell Farms & Buffalo Gal will deliver again on April 8th. http://www.carrellfarms.com/

Indian Creek Angus will deliver on Saturday, April 1st. http://www.indiancreekangus.com/

Cultured Traditions is listed online and selling this week.

This weeks cold snap, last night, tonight and tomorrow will be in the low-to-mid 20s and could get down into the teens in outlying areas. It’s not unusual to get cold nights this time of year — our average last frost day isn’t until mid-April — but given how unseasonably warm it has been, this will hit us hard. Not only have the fruit trees bloomed, they’ve already begun setting fruit. Spring veggies, including leafy greens, like to grow slow with thick leaves in the cool air, and that thickness helps them survive cold nights. But in the heat, they grow fast and thin, and have much less natural defenses against freezing.

Our growers are scrambling, trying to protect what they’ve got growing. They’ve estimated what they’ll have for us on Saturday, but please be understanding if their estimates aren’t as accurate as usual. A few degrees one way or another can mean the difference between getting through ok and total losses.

Plants Heirloom Gardens, Leilani’s and North Forsyth High School FFA have all listed plants for sale this week to help those of you get ready for spring.
