A few Growers Report:

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse: It is that time of year to Pre-Order our Beautiful Christmas Kissing Balls and Christmas Wreath with a choice of Red or Green Ribbon. You’ll make a deposit and pay balance when you pick up your wreath or kissing ball.

Linwood Lamb: This week we have a few delicious items: Chorizo Lamb Brats, Fetta Cheese and Spinach Lamb Sliders and Lamb Kabobs! Enjoy our Spicy Italian Lamb Brats and Thick Cut Lamb Loin Chops and Thick Cut Lamb Rib Chops. We also have ‘Price Reduced’ Lamb Leg Steaks.

NashPhilly: Warm yourself with our new Soup; New England Clam Chowder (find in Soups) – creamy savory, rich and velvety is how I would describe this when you taste it. I add some herbs (thyme and parley) to give it little bit more depth of flavor. Sold in 32oz quart containers.

Also this week Beef and Cheese Lasagna Single Portion
Classic lasagna with beef. 3 layers of robust roasted garlic red sauce, and smothered with mozzarella, parmesan, and ricotta cheeses. Infused with Italian herbs such as basil, rosemary, oregano, and parsley. These are in a 9in by 6in by 2in deep pan. Can feed one very hungry person or would be perfect for two people with a side salad or soup. The pasta noodles and beef are all fully cooked, will require additional baking at home!

Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken. Single Portion
It’s a roasted garlic and parmesan cream sauce. I add some Italian herbs to finish the pasta like parsley, rosemary, and oregano. The chicken is seared golden brown + delicious and will be sliced and put on top. Single individual portion, but it could probably feed two. I use 8 oz of noodles per order. I recommend you reheat on the stove top with 1/4-1/2cup of heavy cream, little salt and cracked black pepper to have the the best results.

Pinky’s Micros:
We now have 2 oz. and 4 oz. units available of our Microgreens and Sprouts! This week we have these delicious Microgreens and Sprouts available.
Basic Salad Mix, Broccoli, Pea shoots,
Radish microgreens, Sunflower micro greens.

Rainbow Hill Farm: We still have Gourmet Cabbage available, these are large heads 10-15 pounds! This is a sweet cabbage, great for kraut, slaw and cooking and this week we have Sweet Pepper Assortment.

Reminder, this is the only time of year that you can get the freshest apples. Not refrigerated and ready to eat, dry or make sauce with them. We’ve already sold out of several popular varieties, don’t wait, get your order in!

Available this week;
Granny Smith: very hard and tart green apple.
Winesap: hard tart apple, great for cooking.
Jonagold: This apple is a cross of Jonathan and golden delicious. A tart flavor with some sweetness. Good for both cooking and eating fresh.
Rome: Dark red, mild flavor, somewhat sweet. Good for both cooking and eating fresh.
Yellow Delicious: Very sweet to taste. It is a favorit for salads, apple sauce and apple butter.

Spring Meadow Farm: Aji Dulce Pepper, Arugula, French Breakfast Radish, Green Tomatoes, Curly Leaf Kale, Lemon Balm, Roma Tomato, Siberian Kale, Spring Mix, Super Greens, Tomatillo, Tomato Mix, Turnip Greens.

“The best laid plans of mice and men” apparently applies to M@D as well! We were SO excited to offer organic cabbage and beets at cost + 10% and carefully calculated to make sure we got it right.

The calculations were great! We did exactly that with the cabbage. The beets . . . eh . . . , not so much. We thought we were getting 45 lb and based the price on that. But we actually got 25 lb causing last week’s beet sales to be less than cost.

egg-on-face

All that to say, GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE, LOL!!! Thankfully the Market is ran well enough that it’s not going to do any lasting harm and while the egg on the proverbial face is a bit embarrassing, we’ll just clean up our mess and keep going! This won’t deter us from taking advantage of more great deals like this going forward.

But we did want you to know why the beets are priced higher this week.

We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!

Frontier Farms:  its going to get coldddd.. and thats awesome for fall vegetables

The lettuce is growing awesomely, the broccoli is in, the Brussels are good. its time to eat good in your neighborhood.

There are all kinds of new veggies and products this week. Make sure to shop everything.

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!

PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m.

If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION right after you order then your order is NOT complete. Log back in and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email.

COVID19: Thanks for recognizing we can all do our part in operating in the safest way possible. Be on the lookout for the order reminder email with any changes to pickup or ways you can help minimize risk for our volunteers and each other. Thanks for your support!*
